Guess who made GeekDad, again?

More of my pictures have shown up on GeekDad. I submit what I think geeky to the GeekDad flickr group, and you should too.

I should also write more, but there's more to that coming.

Three. Six. Five.

Has it really been a year already? It seems like only yesterday that I was telling your sister to pack a bag just in case she had to spend the night and Grammy and Pawpaw's. It seems like only yesterday that we anxiously waited for you to make your debut.

Of course you couldn't do things the easy way, oh no. You wouldn't be our kid if things were done that way. Six days in the NICU has netted you the honor of being grounded until the day you leave home. But dad's a softy, so that punishment will probably be lifted before long. How about we just keep you away from the hookers and booze instead?

You've completed our family for a year now. Despite the fact that your sister is 2000 miles away from us, and things never seem to go our way, you make life for all of us better.

Happy Birthday Butters.

All my love.

-the monkey who cares for you.

Sending Out Mad Love

Alltop.com, the incredibly popular aggregation of the top of the internet has seen fit to include this time little slice of teh internets in their aggregation of dad blogs.

Woot! Go me! What a great way to celebrate a year's worth of writing really bad english and words and things...

I'm honored. But seriously, what are you guys thinking? Now I've got expectations and stuff to live up to.

Belated Anniversary

A year. I've been writing this tripe for a year now. Thanks to all that have endured this garbage. Hopefully going forward things will improve.

When It Rains, It Pours

Mac was in Arkansas when I called her last night. She is of course her father's child, and everything is rolling off of her like water off a duck's back. Little gets to her, and when it does, it isn't for long.

But when you give in for just one second, life reminds you that things can indeed get worse.

Rotormommy's maternal grandmother passed away last night (leave it to HH6 to rename herself something more appropriate). I never had much of a chance to get to know her personally, sadly dementia started taking her long ago. That coupled with the distance that separated us from her and the madness of everyday life made visiting difficult, and even more so once Butters was born.

So now we're off to south of the Gump to attend services. This has been coming for several days now, and this coupled with Mac's departure has left me without the motivation or desire to do much in the way of writing, or to take part in an interview I was to do. (Stefan, my apologies brother. Once we get back, I'll shoot you an e-mail and we'll bang this interview out.)

Right now, it ain't pouring, this is the midst of monsoon season.
